My Promise to a White Rose by Michael Knight

In the garden of life you are a white rose, with true beauty that nobody knows,
And each time I see you it grows it grows.
But you have been mistreated, abused, lied to, confused,
About what is right and what is wrong and there's only one that can be accused.
That two-faced gardener that said he would protect you, hold you, love you,
But he lied, an action that makes my heart cry and I know when he's done with you he will start a new.
But I pray for that every second of every minute of every day,
Because when I show up, it will be to stay.
To give you real love and to take care of a new season, one you have been unaware of.
And this is my promise to you white rose,
But whether you will let me keep it, who knows.
